Hi Chief,

Reed from Guam.  I'm sorry for your lost.  Prayers from Guam go out to your sister.  Chief I would like to share my Martial Arts experience with you.  Training your Tushkahoma system brought my martial arts to an admirable level.  The movements/techs when practiced enough grew inside of me as if my sense of touch and sight became greater.  I remember during my course to 1st degree you answered and advised all my questions even when not related to Tushkahoma.  I appreciate every thing we've talked about and the personal ideas shared through e-mail and telehphone.  Chief I've never mentioned this to you before but the greatest technique I've learned from you is your wisdom.  Your friendship, teachings and wisdom make you a true Chief.  At one time I needed guidence and you showed the light.  A true leader!  I would like to share with everyone now.  If anyone is training Tushkahoma right now may the great spirit show you what I've seen.  If anyone is thinking about it you won't regret it!  The tushkahoma program with Chief Roman's wisdom is priceless!  Tushkahoma took the violence out of all my martial arts training.  I found inner peace and more self respect for myself and others.  Chief once again thank you for everything you've done for me and my family.  Chief, your sister is in a better place with peace looking down happy on you.

Halito Chief

Once again, it was good speaking with you the other day. Angie sends her best wishes for you and your entire family during this time. I would like to share a few words with those who may be reading your site and looking into your tystem.

Hello. My name is James B. Speights. I am a student of martial arts and have trained since the seventy's. Starting at first in my yard with a book by Sosai Oyama Masutatsu I trained in the basics and hit a tree. Later in mid 1980,s I started formal class in a subsystem of Kajukenbo called Karazenpo Go Shin Jutsu.

During that time I also studied American Kempo and Japanese Karate under Professor Martin.

Several years ago my wonderful wife Angie and I went to visit our lifelong friends in Houston. The four of us then drove to San Antonio to visit and then drove to Dallas to meet Chief Roman. I would like to share that time with you in hopes you may appreciate him and his art and encourage those considering the study of his system.

Meeting Chief was a pleasure. The first thing Ken George and I noticed was that Chief treats you in the old way. That is to say when you walk into his home you are treated as guest with respect and dignity.

You feel at home and at ease. Chief is a full blood Choctaw Indian and this is typical of how you would be treated in the home or lodge of most Indian people. My friend Ken George is half Cherokee and my had a Great Grandmother was Choctaw. Both Chief and my fathers people came from Oaklahoma so we had a little to talk about in that regard.

We waited for Mr. Bob Rose, one of Chief's top students to arrive. We hit it off immediately and begin to train. We went over the Tushka Homa System and some American Kempo. I would like to comment on that.

First, as in all systems and as with all teachers. Each has their own rythm that transcends technique. It lies in the spirt and intention of the thing. This holds true to Chief Roman also. We started with the Tushka Homa techniques from number one and went through about half of them, maybe a few more. Chief has a wonderful ability to communicate the teaching. From the physical sense he is right on. When he grasp you and puts you in a lock or hold there is no fiddling around trying to get it correct.

It is on the money. Period. He has a suttle way of moving and executing the techniques that make them look easy or at times not powerful. However if you do the techniques with him and feel it you will believe. Both he and Mr. Rose are terrific martial artist.

We also did some American Kempo and he has a wonderful expression of Mr. Parkers art.We trained for two hours or so and then we had to head back.

The art that Chief Roman teaches is special. It was in fact a culmination of his training with two other teachers plus the Choctaw ways. It is a wonderful system and I am geatful for the time and courtesy he extended to us. I hope in some way this will encourage anyone thinking about learning this system to go ahead and move forward.

In closing I will just say this. Treat each human being with love and respect. Do not be predjudice towards other systems because in fact it is all related. It is all part of a circle as is life itself. Bring positive things about and speak only good.

Peach and Gods blessing to you all.
